This is an old-school warming remedy — not a miracle cure. Herbal Hot doesn’t work overnight, and it isn’t meant to replace medical care. It’s meant to bring comfort, warmth, and relief to sore, overworked bodies.
Please read this post from beginning to end before making or using this remedy.
What Is Herbal Hot?
Herbal Hot is a homemade warming rub made from herbs and oils known to increase circulation, relax tight muscles, and bring heat to areas that ache — especially in cold weather or after hard physical work.
This is the herbal version of those store-bought warming creams, without the chemical burn, artificial fragrance, or mystery ingredients.
What Herbal Hot Is Good For
- Sore muscles
- Stiff joints
- Arthritis discomfort
- Lower back pain
- Neck and shoulder tension
- Cold hands, feet, and joints
This rub works by gently warming the area and increasing blood flow — not by numbing pain.
Ingredients You’ll Need
- ½ cup olive oil or sweet almond oil
- 2 tablespoons dried cayenne pepper
- 2 tablespoons dried ginger root
- 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
- 1 tablespoon dried turmeric
- 2 tablespoons beeswax pellets (for a salve)
Optional essential oils (use sparingly):
- 10 drops ginger essential oil
- 5 drops black pepper essential oil
How to Make Herbal Hot (Oil Infusion)
- Combine olive oil, cayenne, ginger, rosemary, and turmeric in a small saucepan.
- Heat on very low for 1–2 hours. Do not boil.
- Stir occasionally and keep heat gentle.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Strain thoroughly through cheesecloth or a fine strainer.
This infused oil can be used as-is, or turned into a salve.
How to Make Herbal Hot Salve
- Return the strained oil to low heat.
- Add beeswax pellets and stir until melted.
- Remove from heat.
- Add essential oils if using.
- Pour into clean jars or tins and allow to set.
How to Use Herbal Hot
- Apply a small amount to sore areas
- Massage gently into skin
- Wash hands thoroughly after use
Start with a small patch test — this rub is warming, not mild.
IMPORTANT Safety Warnings
- Do NOT apply to broken skin
- Do NOT use near eyes or sensitive areas
- Do NOT use on children
- Do NOT apply heat on top of this rub
- Wash hands immediately after use
Cayenne can cause burning if overused. Less is more.
Who Should NOT Use Herbal Hot
- People with very sensitive skin
- Those allergic to peppers or ginger
- Anyone with circulatory disorders (consult a doctor)
Storage
- Store in a cool, dark place
- Shelf life: 6–12 months
- Label clearly: FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY
Real Talk
This is the kind of remedy people used when they worked hard, got sore, and still had to get up the next day and do it again.
It’s not fancy. It’s not trendy. It’s warm, it works, and it earns its place in the cabinet.
That’s the Angry Housewives Club way.
Safety Note: I am NOT a medical professional. Please research ingredients, check for allergies, and confirm pet safety. Use gently and at your discretion.
